Following on from the delivery of the Science Block extension, Constructure were again appointed to undertake the detailed design of this new build multi-use hall, including overseeing the site phase.
The new building includes the main hall itself, including retractable terraced seating, as well as a professional kitchen, dedicated working spaces and staff offices.
The framing of the new hall included hot rolled steel framing around the perimeter and on the lower roof (due to plant loading), with the main roof being constructed from exposed glulam beams supporting CLT panels, to improve the environmental credentials and also provide a positive visual aesthetic. SFS was used to the external walls to achieve the insulation requirements without compromising the net area.
The storm water connected into a new soakaway, keeping the environmental impact of the proposal to a minimum.
